Job Title: R&D Project Management Planner

Brief Description:

The R&D Project Planner works under the direction of Project Management Leads (PMLs) or R&D PMs, providing day-to-day project planning to support timely execution of project goals and maintain accurate reporting information.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the PML or R&D PM in generating and updating day-to-day project plans, interacting with cross-functional teams to understand activities and interdependencies.
  • Gather updates from teams to monitor progress, with a focus on critical path activities, and promptly alert the PML/R&D PM for resolution.
  • Create and maintain standard Gantt charts for team review, following project management conventions.
  • Generate scenario options ahead of project meetings, occasionally at short notice or during live discussions.
  • Present detailed planning knowledge in meetings, advising teams on interdependencies and impacts on critical milestones.
  • Ensure the corporate planning system is maintained accurately to support downstream portfolio reporting and resource forecasting.
  • Serve as a scheduling ‘super user’ for the project management team.
  • Provide planning support for multiple project teams.
  • Interact with business support functions to maintain system compliance and facilitate updates, improvements, and user training.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong team player
  • Experience with corporate project planning systems
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, leveraging appropriate tools
  • Curious and inquisitive mindset, confident to ask questions
  • Excellent technical aptitude and computer skills
  • Interest or experience in the drug development process and project management
  • Working knowledge of planning applications (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planisware)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
