Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Census Field Coordinator for a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on civic engagement, advocacy, and community-centered national initiatives. This is a remote, full-time temporary opportunity open to candidates located within the United States, with a requirement for those based in the Eastern Time Zone and within reasonable access to a major airport. This role offers strong potential for extension or conversion based on funding and long-term organizational needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Census Field Coordinator will support the successful execution of a major national campaign by managing logistics, tracking deliverables, and helping keep cross-functional priorities on schedule. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who can thrive in a fast-moving environment, communicate clearly with leadership and project stakeholders, and keep critical details from slipping through the cracks. The right candidate will be confident, resourceful, and energized by meaningful work that supports large-scale community impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate day-to-day project logistics, timelines, and deliverables for a major census-focused campaign initiative
- Maintain project tracking tools and ensure deadlines, action items, and follow-up tasks are clearly documented and executed
- Attend meetings, capture detailed notes, surface key opportunities, and proactively flag timeline risks or roadblocks
- Partner closely with project leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to keep priorities aligned and moving forward
- Support campaign operations, scheduling, and administrative execution with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Assist with travel coordination and provide support for occasional evening or weekend events as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in nonprofit program coordination, campaign operations, research projects, or executive-level support
- Strong project management, written communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and execute with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and project management tools
- Must have direct professional experience working with, or having been employed by organizations that support, diverse communities such as Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and other underrepresented populations preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This full-time temporary opportunity offers compensation of up to $40/hour, depending on experience. The assignment is expected to last approximately 6 months and offers strong potential for extension or conversion based on funding and performance. Equipment will be provided, and the role also offers valuable exposure to executive leadership and national campaign operations.
