Full Job Description

You will work on GitLab’s Software Supply Chain Security team, focusing on secrets management and dependency scanning systems. The role involves designing backend services that detect, validate, and remediate exposed secrets across repositories.

You’ll also:

• Build scalable backend APIs used by enterprise DevOps teams
• Improve container and dependency scanning systems
• Optimize performance for high-scale distributed workloads
• Collaborate across product, security, and infrastructure teams

GitLab’s platform supports over 100,000 organizations, so systems must be secure, fault-tolerant, and globally scalable.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering (Go or Ruby)
• Distributed systems experience
• CI/CD and DevSecOps familiarity
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)
