Job Description: A proactive security engineering role focused on preventing security incidents before they happen at a major cryptocurrency exchange. You'll build detection, prevention, and hardening systems that protect BitMEX's infrastructure, customer assets, and trading systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build proactive security tooling, detection systems, and automated hardening across BitMEX infrastructure
• Conduct threat modeling, security reviews, and red team exercises
• Work on cloud security hardening and network segmentation
• Build automated security testing and vulnerability detection pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering and SRE teams on secure-by-default infrastructure
• Respond to and lead resolution of security incidents and near-misses

Skills Required: Cloud security (AWS or GCP), threat modeling, security automation, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, crypto/blockchain security awareness, Python or Go for tooling.

Requirements:

• Senior security engineering experience with a proactive security focus
• Cloud infrastructure security hardening experience
• Experience with security automation and detection engineering
• Cryptocurrency or financial services security background a strong plus
