Job Description: You'll own the core services and data pipelines that everything else at Hive is built on — including high-throughput ingestion, real-time integrations, and the foundational layer under 200M+ messages per month. This is a deeply technical role for a senior engineer who takes full ownership of platform reliability and architectural direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the core backend services and data pipelines powering Hive's high-volume marketing platform
  • Build and maintain systems that ingest real-time data from 20+ integrations including Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and Shopify
  • Design and implement high-throughput, reliable event-driven processing using Kubernetes and Docker for billions of jobs daily
  • Architect scalable data query systems capable of interrogating billions of customer data points in seconds
  • Contribute to cross-company platform engineering initiatives and engineering leadership direction
  • Maintain high observability and reliability standards across core services

Requirements:

  • 7+ years backend engineering experience with strong platform/infrastructure background
  • Experience with high-throughput, event-driven systems and real-time integrations
  • Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure expertise
  • Experience designing and operating systems handling billions of data points
  • Legal Canadian work authorization (not available in Quebec)
  • Proven comfort working fully remote with async communication
