Job Description: You'll be a live technical support representative handling inbound phone calls and chats from Porkbun's growing customer base — helping everyone from developers buying .ai domains to bargain hunters figuring out DNS. This is primarily a phone and chat role. You'll need to actually know domains and DNS — or have very strong technical support experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound customer phones and chats as the primary daily priority — phone and chat first
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to domains, DNS, hosting, SSL certificates, email forwarding, and account access
  • Provide personalized, helpful, and honest support to customers ranging from tech-savvy developers to complete beginners
  • Escalate complex or unusual issues to senior staff when appropriate
  • Document issues and resolutions to help improve support processes
  • Participate in team communications and shift handovers

Skills Required: Domain name systems (DNS), hosting basics, live phone and chat support, technical troubleshooting, calm communication under customer stress, fast learning.

Requirements:

  • Experience — professional or personal — with domains, hosting, DNS is required. If you don't have that, you need very strong live technical support experience and a genuine curiosity for learning
  • At least 2 years of tech support experience, either internal help desk or customer-facing
  • Ability to provide excellent live support via phone and chat even under customer stress
  • Must be based in one of the eligible states: AZ, CA, ID, OR, TX, or WA
