Job Description: You'll lead the ongoing build-out of a holistic security engineering program at FullStory, reporting to the Director of Cloud Platform. The security engineering team ensures that engineering teams across the company can securely design, build, test, and maintain software and cloud infrastructure — with a "paved road" approach that keeps security friction-free for product engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Security Engineering team, setting strategic direction for a "paved road" secure development program
- Run detailed code reviews and establish secure-development practices across the engineering org
- Mentor engineers and advise the product team on feature development from a security posture
- Drive continuous improvement against the company's security maturity model and Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL)
- Own the security engineering program holistically — application security, cloud security, infrastructure security, and developer security tooling
- Lead with empathy and deliver excellent customer service to internal engineering stakeholders
- Hire, coach, and develop a team of security engineers
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading or managing a security engineering team
- Strong application security and cloud infrastructure security background
- Experience building secure development lifecycle programs, including developer tooling and security guardrails
- Excellent communication skills to advise both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Track record of balancing security with developer velocity and operational pragmatism
Benefits: Flexible PTO, annual company-wide closure, federal holidays, sponsored benefit packages for US employees, monthly productivity stipend, annual learning subsidy, paid parental leave, home office setup reimbursement, annual full-company meetup.
