Job Description: You'll join Alpaca's clearing engineering team building the core infrastructure that processes and settles trades across global financial markets. This is a backend-heavy, systems-oriented engineering role requiring deep understanding of financial clearing and settlement workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build clearing and settlement infrastructure for Alpaca's brokerage operations
• Develop high-performance, fault-tolerant backend systems processing real-time financial transactions
• Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance teams on regulatory and operational requirements
• Maintain high standards for system reliability, observability, and operational safety
• Participate in code review, architecture discussions, and on-call rotation

Requirements:

• Strong backend engineering background with experience building high-throughput, reliable systems
• Understanding of financial clearing, settlement, or trade lifecycle workflows preferred
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar backend languages
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and financial data pipelines
• Comfort operating in a regulated, compliance-conscious environment
