Job Description: A senior technical leadership role on River's engineering team. You'll architect and develop features and products in the Elixir codebase that powers River's web applications and financial API, while acting as a key technical influencer and mentor to other engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop features and products in the Elixir (Phoenix, LiveView) codebase powering River's web apps and API
- Work closely with product management to plan and scope new projects and initiatives
- Present innovative solutions to senior leadership, aligning engineering with company goals
- Lead and architect technical solutions for highly complex, abstract projects — ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Act as a key influencer in the team's success, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of engineering excellence
- Contribute to proof-of-reserves infrastructure and cryptographic validation systems
Requirements:
- 7+ years software engineering experience with production-scale Elixir (Phoenix, OTP) expertise
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining production services at scale
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and fault-tolerant architecture
- Interest in Bitcoin, sound money, or financial infrastructure preferred
- Excellent written and async communication skills for a remote-first team
